FuturePlay Festival

FuturePlay Festival (formerly the Edinburgh Digital Entertainment Festival) took to the streets of Edinburgh again for 24 days in August 2017 with a diverse programme of events celebrating, exploring and showcasing cutting-edge creative content and ideas at the intersection of art and technology. Geodesic domes and shipping containers on George Street housed a Virtual Reality Studio, a gaming and interactive Tech Zone, and an Immersive Art Gallery powered by Google Tilt Brush. Special events included a talks and debates programme and a one-day industry symposium at the University of Edinburgh while a converted underground car park was host to the FuturePlay Arcade Party, a one night event featuring dozens of retro video games, drinks and DJs. Virtual Reality Cabin

Virtual Reality Cabin In December 2016 we collaborated with HammersmithLondon BID to offer a free virtual reality experience to the residents and employees of the borough. Visitors were invited into our virtual reality cabin in Lyric Square, given a VR headset and were whisked away to a range of wintery worlds, including a tour of New York City at Christmas and getting up close and personal with polar bears in The Arctic. A Christmas Carol starring Simon Callow

Following sell-out seasons in 2011/12 and critical and audience acclaim, Simon Callow brought his much-lauded production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, to the London's Arts Theatre from 8th December 2016 until 7th January 2017. Based on Dickens. own performance adaptation, Simon Callow and director-designer Tom Cairns delivered a one-man theatrical extravaganza of festive story-telling that was both heart-warming and deeply moving. The show was presented by Riverside Studios & Assembly. Edinburgh Digital Entertainment Festival

The inaugural Edinburgh Digital Entertainment Festival (EdDigiFest) took place in August 2016 at the Assembly Rooms Edinburgh. The festival celebrated the intersection of new technology, the arts and entertainment, offering audiences the chance to experience Virtual Reality, immersive technology, games, event cinema and digital performances, all at the heart of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.


Digital Productions

Digital Productions Our Digital Production Team has been established with the aim of delivering several productions a year for a variety of broadcasters. Since 2016 we have filmed Northern Ballet's 1984 for The Space and BBC4, Streetwise Opera's The Passion for The Space and BBC4 as well as Tiny Fires/Theatre 503/Wales Millennium Centre's Land of Our Fathers for The Space. Upcoming productions include Rumplestiltskin from BalletLORENT with The Space.
