The redevelopment of Riverside Studios is due for completion in early 2019.
Our former Studios and the neighbouring Queen's Wharf have been replaced by an iconic new building across both sites. Riverside Studios will boast state-of-the-art facilities including three flexible studio spaces for television, theatre, dance, opera, music and comedy as well as a cinema, screening room, archive, community & rehearsal space and a local events and entertainment space. The new Riverside will also offer a variety of places to eat and drink - including our award-winning bar and café and Sam's Riverside - with spectacular views of the river and Hammermsith Bridge. For the first time, the Thames path has been opened up in front of Riverside Studios allowing you to walk beside the river all the way from Barnes Bridge to Craven Cottage.
The new Riverside Studios will inhabit most of the ground floor and parts of the basement, first and second floors. The remainder of the building is residential apartments built by our development partners Mount Anvil and A2 Dominion.
Internal Architectural Design on the project is being led by Flanagan Lawrence, the award-winning, design-led architectural practice based in West London. Gardiner & Theobald head up our Project Management, act as Quantity Surveyors and offer Construction (Design and Management) Co-ordination; WSP provide Structural, Mechanical & Electrical and Fire Services; the Acoustic Consultants are Sandy Brown; the Approved Inspectors are JM Partnership; the Access Consultants are Earnscliffe; and Keith Winton Design are our Catering Consultants for the new Bakery, Bar & Cafe and Restaurant.
A film record of Riverside's redevelopment will become part of our new digital archive, but here is a look at how the project has progressed and an idea of what the new Riverside Studios will look like:
