During those 40 years we have amassed an enormous amount of heritage material including photographs, programmes, scripts, audio tapes, VHS recordings, posters and production notes. We have photographs of Peter Gill's 1978 production of
Our period of redevelopment has provided us with the opportunity to take stock of this valuable collection and to work towards ensuring that it is restored, protected and developed for the benefit of the public, cultural historians, researchers and future generations.
Our ambition is to make the Riverside Studios Archive publicly accessible when our iconic venue reopens in 2018.
Our plans for the new building include appropriate archive storage, the provision of a public archive reading room, an exciting heritage activities programme and designated heritage staff. We also aim to enhance our existing material with an oral history portfolio which will gather the personal recollections of significant individuals who have worked with the organisation.
